Sky terrier is one category of larger breed of terriers that has 27 types. Skye terrier originates from Scotland. Skye terrier is long but low terrier with length almost double of height. There are two coats on Skye terrier – undercoat is short and soft, topcoat is hard and straight.

Skye terrier dogs are found with various colors like blonde, dark or light gray, fawn, blue and black. Skye terriers are affectionate, polite, courageous, playful and bold. Skye terrier breed should be trained and socialized from very young age else they become over suspicious to visitors and strangers. They may even snap at or bite strangers who try to touch them.

Weight of Skye terrier is around 35 to 40 pounds and height is around 10 inches. Sky terrier is a very healthy breed and life span is between 12 to 15 years. Skye terriers are good companion dogs and very loyal to their masters.
