Sheepdog is essentially a breed of domestic dogs that was developed for herding or guarding sheep. It comes from a larger category of pastoral dogs. Sheepdogs are very active, friendly, loving, faithful, strong herding instinct, intelligent and are preferred as family dogs.

Sheepdogs are strong willed and hence need form training and lot of physical and mental exercises so as to make them suitable as family companion. There are more than 50 types of Sheepdogs.
