Scotch terrier or Scottish terrier or Scottie or Aberdeen terrier dogs come from a larger breed of terrier family. Scotties is very popular due to its typical terrier features and profile, and distinct black color. Five breed of terrier originated in Scotland. Scottish terrier is one and other four include Skye, Cairn, west highland white and Dandie Dinmont.
Erect ears and tail are the salient identification mark of Scottie. Coat over Scottie is hard, wiry, long, and weather resistant. Scotch terriers with nickname diehard are extremely brave. Scotch terriers though a small breed but are very fast. Scotties have a muscular body and they are sturdy. Scotties are very alert, playful, agile, intelligent, have strong determination, loving and stubborn.
Scotties are most preferred as watch dogs and domestic pets. Weight of Scottie is around 20 pounds and height is around 13 to 14 inches and lifespan is about 12 to 15 years.
